Hosted by the bipartisan House and Senate manufacturing caucuses, this briefing will highlight a recent report on the automotive manufacturing sector, Supplying Ingenuity II: US Suppliers of Key Clean Fuel-Efficient Vehicle Technologies, that finds more than 1200 U.S. factories and engineering facilities in 48 states - and nearly 300,000 American manufacturing workers - building technology that improves fuel economy for today’s vehicles.
The briefing will bring together report authors, industry experts, and national- and local-level labor and company speakers to discuss automotive technology innovation, investment, manufacturing, and job growth across the country.
Speakers will discuss the role of fuel economy and clean vehicle standards (now under review) in sustaining and growing US manufacturing and jobs, as well as the economic, manufacturing and labor policies needed to ensure we secure todays’ jobs and capture the next generation of automotive technology manufacturing and good jobs in America. Interactive maps will also allow briefing attendees and the public to explore the facilities and technologies built in their state or district.
