The North American Bison

The National Bison Day Capitol Hill Reception

Tuesday, November 13, 5:30pm – 7:30pm

2172 Rayburn House Office Building

Featuring:

Bison-themed food and drinks, and Displays from Bison Enthusiasts

The Wildlife Conservation Society, from our flagship at the Bronx Zoo, worked with President Theodore Roosevelt, private ranchers, Native American tribes and others to save bison from extinction in the early 1900’s. Last year, Congress honored the bison by officially adopting it as the National Mammal of the United States. Today, we celebrate our newest national symbol and the bison’s continued contribution to our nation’s history, culture, ecology and economy.
