New Debates and Tensions in Antitrust: What Does the Future Hold?

  • 2226 Rayburn House Office Building (map)

In recent years, and especially within the last few months, a “perfect storm” of developments are producing new tensions and new debates in the field of antitrust that to date have failed to produce anything approaching a consensus about the best path forward for this crucial policy sector. In this Georgetown on the Hill series, we will explore salient antitrust policy issues that will be front-and-center as we head into the next year.

Join us for a panel discussion moderated by Mark Whitener, Senior Industry and Innovation Fellow, Georgetown Center for Business and Public Policy. Panelists include:

  • Howard Shelanski, Professor of Law, Georgetown University; and former Director of the Bureau of Economics (2012-2013), Federal Trade Commission

  • Maureen Ohlhausen, former Commissioner (2012-2018) and Acting Chairman (2017-2018), Federal Trade Commission

  • Jonathan Gleklen, Partner and Chair of US Antitrust Practice, Arnold & Porter

  • John W. Mayo, Elsa Carlson McDonough Professor of Business Administration, Georgetown University; and Executive Director, Georgetown Center for Business and Public Policy

This seminar is part of the Georgetown Center for Business and Public Policy's Georgetown on the Hill series at which we convene policymakers, academics, and industry experts to discuss important economic policy issues of the day.
