Briefing: CAR-T (Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell) Cancer Immunotherapy

  • 121 Cannon House Office Building (map)

Dear Colleague,

Over the course of the past decade, incredible progress has been made in the development of new therapies to treat the blood cancers (leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma). In no area is this more apparent than in the development of different immunotherapies, in which the power of the body’s own immune system is harnessed to fight cancer. Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy is a cutting- edge immunotherapy in which a patient’s own cells are removed, genetically modified, and infused back into the patient to fight their blood cancer.

Please join us for a briefing that will provide an overview of CAR T-cell therapy from the nation’s leading scientists. Learn about the development of this immunotherapy, the way in which CAR T-cell therapy treats blood cancer, and hear directly from a patient
about her own treatment experience.

Tuesday, July 10
