Please join the Committee on Veterans' Affairs for a briefing on the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) efforts to prevent suicides among veterans at 2p in 1334 Longworth House Office Building on March 14th.
It is estimated that twenty veterans, servicemembers, national guardsmen, women, and reservists die by suicide every day. This alarming statistic has led to legislative and executive action; however, the needle by which we judge our efforts has not shifted in years. In an effort to make meaningful progress in this battle, the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs will host Dr. Keita Franklin, VA’s Director of Suicide Prevention, to discuss the agency's current efforts and shed light on where Congress may assist and better support these efforts.
Both staff and interns are welcome to attend.
