ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Timothy P. Carney is the commentary editor at the Washington Examinerand a visiting fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. He is the author The Big Ripoff: How Big Business and Big Government Steal Your Money,Obamanomics: How Barack Obama Is Bankrupting You and Enriching His Wall Street Friends, Corporate Lobbyists, and Union Bosses, and, most recently, Alienated America: Why Some Places Thrive While Others Collapse.

Matthew Mehan is the Director of Academic Programs and the Worsham Teaching Fellow at Hillsdale College’s Kirby Center in Washington, D.C. He received his Ph.D. in literature from the University of Dallas, and is the director of the Jackson Scholars Honors Thesis Program at The Heights School. He is the author of Mr. Mehan’s Mildly Amusing Mythical Mammals, a poetic introduction to the liberal arts.
