2043/2044 Rayburn House Office Building

Dear Colleague:

We want to draw your attention to an invitation you should have already received from Battelle. On Wednesday, March 27th at 5:30 p.m., Battelle, The University of California, and Triad National Security, LLC, cordially invite you to attend a briefing entitled The Department of Energy’s National Laboratories: Strengthening America through Science and Technology Innovation in the Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2043/2044. A reception will follow the briefing and panel discussion.

The keynote speaker will be The Honorable Paul Dabbar, Under Secretary of Science for the U.S. Department of Energy. His remarks will be complimented by a panel discussion featuring members broadly representative of the many industries and agencies who rely on the work of our National Labs.

The Energy Department's 17 National Labs tackle the critical scientific challenges of our time – from combating climate change to discovering the origins of our universe – and possess unique instruments and facilities, many of which are found nowhere else in the world. They address large scale, complex research and development challenges with a multidisciplinary approach that places an emphasis on translating basic science to innovation.

Please join the House National Labs Caucus to hear from the Under Secretary of Science, and a diverse and distinguished panel, for a discussion about the significant contributions of the National Lab system to the strength and security of America. As the appropriations process begins to pick up, we would like you to understand that continued federal investment in basic research is necessary for our nation’s continued success. We hope you will join us for this important and timely briefing. Please RSVP to Thomas Phillips at phillipstd@battelle.org

The House National Lab Caucus provides a forum where Members and staff can engage with the incredible scientists, engineers, technical staff, and users of the labs while uniting to support the research that they do.

If you would like to become a member of the Congressional National Labs Caucus, please contact Todd Ringler (Todd.Ringler@mail.house.gov) with Rep.
