The Gun Violence Prevention Task Force invites staff for a briefing on the intersection of firearms and suicide. Suicides account for approximately two-thirds of all gun deaths, resulting in 20,000 deaths a year. Firearms are the most frequently used method of suicide. There are interventions that work and can save lives. The briefing will explore current research, legislation, and proven prevention programs.
