Student loan debt—which now tops $1.5 trillion and is held by nearly 1 in 5 American adults—is making headlines as leaders ranging from presidential candidates to the head of JP Morgan Chase comment on the need for not just attention but solutions. With reauthorization of the Higher Education Act on the horizon, now is the time to consider strategies to help those currently struggling with debt and achieve more equitable outcomes for future students.

Join the Aspen Institute Financial Security Program and the Bipartisan Policy Center as we explore solutions that could better-support existing borrowers, as well as reforms to improve the system moving forward.
