Ending Discrimination in Adoption & Foster Care: LGBTQ Voices

  • 2020 Rayburn House Office Building (map)

May is National Foster Care Month. To celebrate, Family Equality Council and FosterClub hope that you can join us May 15 at 3:00 p.m. at a briefing on Ending Discrimination in Adoption & Foster Care: LGBTQ Voices.

The briefing features Karamo Brown, star of Queer Eye and adoptive dad, Alec Mapa, actor/comedian and foster to adopt dad, Congressmembers Sean Patrick Maloney and Angie Craig, adoptive parents, and four LGBTQ foster alumni from across the United States who will tell their foster care and adoption stories.

At the briefing, you will learn more about the Every Child Deserves a Family Act, which would end anti-LGBTQ discrimination in foster care and adoption, increase the number of families available to foster children, and improve care for LGBTQ foster youth. The Every Child Deserves a Family Act will be reintroduced soon by lead sponsor Rep. John Lewis.

Information on the briefing is below. Click here to RSVP for the briefing or RSVP at bit.ly/LGBTQFCM
