The National Council for the Traditional Arts cordially invites members of 116th Congress to attend a reception in support of traditional arts and culture of the United States. This event is scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 4:30-6:30pm at 101 Constitution Ave., NW Suite 600 East.
The National Council for the Traditional Arts has long promoted cultural heritage policies for the benefit of America’s cultural communities. The organization has sustained partnerships with various federal agencies—National Endowment for the Arts, National Park Service and the Library of Congress. Our flagship event, the National Folk Festival, has traveled to 28 communities across the country, and Salisbury, Maryland is the host city through 2020. We hope this congressional leadership reception will serve as a learning and resource sharing opportunity for our board of directors, elected representatives, and stakeholders from our communities.
The reception will include live entertainment from National Heritage Fellow Michael Doucet—distinguished Cajun fiddler from Lafayette, LA.
I would be happy to share more details about our organization or answer any questions you may have about the event.
