Who Owns Your Car’s Data?

  • SVC-215, Capitol Visitor Center (map)

You may own your vehicle, but did you know there are some who want to limit access and ownership to the data it is collecting? Restricting access to your car’s data may result in losing your ability to choose your repair shop. Policies that allow access to vehicle data and software are important since they promote affordability, convenience, and a competitive market for vehicle servicing. Join us for an in-depth discussion on the debate about access to motor vehicle data and consumer choice for motor vehicle repair. What is at risk? And how can we make sure car owners retail their right to choose a repair facility?
