Please join the Congressional Black Caucus Police Accountability Task Force for a conversation with experts working to protect our communities from unnecessary police violence.
The forum will focus on the role prosecutors play in setting precedent and holding members of law enforcement accountable in officer-involved fatalities when force was unnecessary or unjustified. Panelists Wanda Johnson, the mother of Oscar Grant whose tragic death was depicted in the film Fruitvale Station, and Commonwealth's Attorney Stephanie Morales (Portsmouth, VA) were both part of a Working Group convened by John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Their recommendations culminated in a Toolkit for Prosecutors and Communities, by Prosecutors and Communities.
