As Congress debates current refugee and asylum needs at the border, the American Civil Liberties Union and Southern Border Communities Coalition, in coordination with Congresswoman Veronica Escobar, invite you to RSVP for an upcoming expert panel on the need for humane border policies and practices that reject DHS’s cruel and counterproductive “solutions”.
This briefing will provide an update from legal and policy experts across the Texas border. Panelists will address current border realities, identify challenges, and propose real solutions that contrast with DHS’s false narrative about border security. Topics will include Border Patrol custody conditions, the Remain in Mexico (MPP) program, and local communities’ humanitarian responses to the increase in border arrivals.
