At the briefing, Dr. Shekhovtsov will discuss the most recent instances of the Russian campaigns to sway elections throughout Europe, describe historical context and methodological analysis of the Russian activities, and offer recommendations for European nations for countering these illicit activities by the Kremlin.
The luncheon will include an extensive Q&A session.
This session is a part of the Free Russia Foundation regular Congressional Series for senior staff from the House of Representatives and Senate whose portfolio includes foreign policy and national security issues.
Dr. Anton Shekhovtsov is an Associate Research Fellow at the Swedish Institute for International Affairs and an External Lecturer at the University of Vienna, author of the book "Russia and the Western Far Right: Tango Noir." He is currently working on the report specifying the cases of Kremlin's interference into European elections in France, Norway, Germany, Austria, Italy, Hungary, Sweden and other European countries that took place in 2017-2018.
