The Nuts and Bolts of Content Moderation: How the Internet Works

  • 2237 Rayburn House Office Building (map)

Content moderation happens across the Internet, but the Internet is made up of several companies that each play a different role in connecting users through websites, web hosting services, and more.

Join Engine and the Charles Koch Institute on Friday, July 12th, for the final panel in our three-part series on the Nuts and Bolts of Content Moderation. We will be discussing content moderation practices across the infrastructure of the Internet, including how considerations change as you move away from the end user. We will also hold a content moderation simulation to demonstrate some of the decisions that online platforms have to make as they police third-party content.

Panelists include:

  • Althea Erickson, Etsy

  • Erica Fox, Cloudflare

  • Eric Goldman, Santa Clara University School of Law

  • Kevin Koehler, Automattic

Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2237. Lunch will be provided.
